Diversity Philosophy
You have to be prepared to work with all students to provide equal learning, and create equal self-esteem with in your classroom. Some of the development of children is based on their background and their culture. When a teacher notices that there is a deficit with in that child it is our job to start asking questions, play games, and provide activities that to dig into the child a little bit more. We, as educators, should within our classrooms show diversity, celebrate others cultures and embrace each other as family. All of this is part of being a culturally responsive teacher. Whether the children are diverse in cultures, language, socioeconomic, or intelligence there is a sense
of responsibility that teachers take on to provide teaching methods that encourage and reflect belief in success for all students. When dealing with diversity in your classroom in regards to special needs children, we should be implementing them within the general population of the classroom and embracing their learning. With that the teacher should be actively teaching students by explaining and modeling learning in a variety of ways so that all children are included and all children are successful. The classroom climate should promote a sense of family, support, production, responsibility, respect, and be repetitive.
