Classroom Management Philosophy
I believe to effectively manage a classroom you have to show respect and earn the trust of the students. By doing this you are showing them that they are an important asset to the classroom. You also have to set ground rules day one. I believe that if you make the classroom rules and consequences with the students on day one, you are allowing them to be involved in the daily process of the classroom. By setting up the rules and consequences on day one, you are giving the students a better chance at success. When talking to the students, I will have them refer to the class as their “school family.” By doing so, we will be creating a safe environment. Enforcing the rules will allow everyone to learn, and everyone will contribute to the learning of others in a positive way. I also know that every child is different, and they all won’t respond in the same way. This is when I believe I will be able to use the strategies that I have learned to be an effective teacher.
